Pier-Mac receives accreditation to ISO-9002
On August 13th, 1997 Pier-Mac Plastics received Certificate Number:
97-462 for the successful implementation of a quality management
system, registered by Quality Certification Bureau, Inc. W&M
Manufacturing is also covered under this certificate. The scope of
this certificate is: Manufacture, metallization and painting of
Casket Hardware and Automotive Lighting Housing and Lens.
Pier-Mac receives Award
On October 26, 1998 Pier-Mac Plastics received the Indiana Quality
Improvement Award, at a ceremony held at the Indiana Convention
Center & RCA Dome. This award was the result of the effort in
obtaining ISO-9000 certification. The award was presented by
Lieutenant Governor Joseph E. Kernan.
The State of Indiana Quality Improvement Award was established by
Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon when he was Lieutenant Governor and
continues under his successor. It is administered by the Indiana
Business Modernization and Technology Corporation (BMT) on behalf of
the state.
The award is an expression of public support for the highest
standards of quality leadership and achievement on the part of
Hoosier organizations. It is designed to foster continuos
improvement, and therefore, is open to any company or organization
based in Indiana, or with operations based in Indiana.
Other speakers for the day was Rod McNealy, Johnson & Johnson with
"Don't Let Your Customer's Catch You Napping". Walter Cunningham,
Colonel, USMCR Retired also addressed all in attendance with "The
Chance of Dangerous Adventure".
We Have a New Press!
On January 7th, 2000 we received our new Van Dorn 230 Ton Press. It
was an exciting day, with moving the old press that "Started the
Company" out, and moving the new press in.
January 2006 Pier-Mac Plastics of the W&M Family of Companies
received a training grant from the state of Indiana. All employees
will be certified in Global Standards for Plastics Certification.
All the Pier-Mac employees have already received the certification.
